Counselling Intern

A young woman with tattoos on her arm and legs, sitting on a beige sofa in a room with white wood-paneled walls and framed artwork behind her. She is smiling, wearing a sleeveless black pinstripe dress.

Beatrice Somera is a dedicated Masters of Counselling student at the University of Canberra, currently completing her clinical placement with Insight Collective & Co. She is deeply committed to supporting individuals as they navigate life’s challenges, transitions, and emotional experiences within a safe and respectful therapeutic space.

Throughout her studies and training, Beatrice has developed a strong foundation in evidence-based counselling approaches and person-centred practice. Beatrice is a registered with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) as a Student Counsellor.

She is passionate about fostering meaningful therapeutic relationships built on trust, empathy, and authenticity. With a calm and compassionate presence, she aims to create an environment where clients feel heard, valued, and supported in exploring their thoughts, feelings, and goals.

Beatrice understands that each individual’s story is unique. She approaches her work with curiosity and care, tailoring her support to meet the needs of each person she works with. Whether clients are seeking support for anxiety, stress, self-esteem, life transitions, or personal growth, she is committed to walking alongside them at their own pace, empowering them to build insight, resilience, and confidence.

As a student clinician, Beatrice engages in ongoing supervision and reflective practice to ensure ethical, thoughtful, and high-quality care. She values continuous learning and professional growth, recognising that strong clinical practice is grounded in both knowledge and self-awareness.

Her goal is to provide a warm, collaborative, and non-judgemental space where clients can deepen their self-understanding, strengthen their coping strategies, and move toward meaningful and sustainable change.
